Indonesia's Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas affirmed that the government is not misusing the additional Hajj quota for Indonesian pilgrims in the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage season.

"In principle, there is no misuse of the additional quota," he remarked in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, June 22, 2024.

He made the statement in response to the criticism about the management of the Hajj additional quota conveyed by the Hajj Monitoring Team of the House of Representatives (DPR).

3. Whoosh Fast Train Offers 20% off Tickets

High-speed rail company, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia Cina or KCIC, offered a ticket discount of 20 percent for Whoosh fast train routes from Tegalluar or Padalarang to Halim station on Saturday, June 22, in a moment to celebrate the 497th anniversary of the city of Jakarta.

"There are 14,000 seats that are discounted," said KCIC’s General Manager of the Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, in a written statement on Saturday, June 22.
