TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesia's 2024 Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) ranking rose 10 positions to 22 out of 119 countries. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy believes this will boost the number of foreign tourists visiting Indonesia.

“This is an independent assessment of tourism achievements. However, there is still a lot of work to do," said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno in his office on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

He said the five leading pillars in the 2024 TTDI Indonesia report were priorities for travel and tourists, sustainability of travel and tourists, natural resources, socio-economic impacts, and cultural resources.

Likewise, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Tanoesoedibjo said the TTDI independent report parameters strengthened Indonesia's position as a foreign tourist destination.

“The foundation has been set, so the most important thing is facilitating entry to Indonesia since neighboring countries are far easier today," she said.

In order to boost foreign tourist visits, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is collaborating with PT MRT Jakarta to present the Immersive Wonderspace exhibition at the Indonesia One Hotel Indonesia Roundabout MRT Station.

"Hopefully it will improve the experience of using MRT, the world-class public transportation, and push tourists to pick Indonesia as a holiday destination," said Sandiaga on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Immersive Wonderspace introduces five Super Priority Destinations (DSP) to the general public, especially millennials and Gen Z. These destinations are Lake Toba, Borobudur, Labuan Bajo, Mandalika, and Likupang.
