TEMPO.CO, JakartaAn Indonesian woman named Revi Cahya Widi Sulihatin, who was previously reported missing in Osaka, Japan, has been found. It turns out she was arrested by immigration authorities.

"Correct. She was arrested by the Japanese authorities," Judha Nugraha, the Foreign Ministry's director for the protection of Indonesian citizens, told Tempo on Saturday, June 15.

Judha said Revi was in good health and that the government had informed her family of her latest condition and whereabouts.

Judha said the ministry would investigate the case of Revi's arrest. The Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in Osaka has received information from local authorities, but will not be able to see her until today, June 19. Judha did not elaborate on the chronology of Revi's arrest, asking to wait for information from the consulate after meeting with Revi.

Revi was reported missing by Facebook user Lidya Permata Sari Lahagu, who claims to be Revi's older sister, in a post on the Backpacker International group. Lidya wrote that Revi flew to Japan from Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 01:55 on June 10 and landed at Osaka Kansai International Airport at 09:35 the same day.

Lidya said Revi's last message was that she had passed immigration. Since then, Lidya has not been able to contact Revi. According to the post, Revi is in Japan on a short-term visa with a 15-day visit period, which means she must leave the country by June 25.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Consulate General in Osaka received no report from Japanese authorities until several days after Revi's arrest. When asked if Lidya was indeed Revi's relative, Judha said she was not, but did not provide further information.
