Minister Sri Mulyani: State Budget Sees Surplus of Rp75.7trn in April, State Revenue Down

28 May 2024 10:19 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaMinister of Finance Sri Mulyani explained that the State Budget (APBN) in April 2024 experienced a surplus worth Rp75.7 trillion or equal to 0.33 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, according to her, state revenue has declined to Rp924.9 trillion.

"(State revenue) has decreased 7.6 percent year on year (yoy)," she said during an APBN press conference on Monday, May 27, 2024.

The minister said state spending was up by 10.9 percent y-o-y with Rp849.2 trillion or 25.5 percent of the APBN ceiling. Central government spending was recorded at Rp591.7 trillion, an increase compared to the same period last year with Rp522.7 trillion.

According to Sri Mulyani, the growth of central government spending realization was mostly attributed to workers’ Eid allowances.

The rest of the fund was used for thematic budgets such as Rp173.4 trillion for education, and infrastructure amounting to Rp89.8 trillion. The new capital city has spent Rp4.8 trillion throughout April.

Tax revenues as of April reached Rp624.9 trillion, import duties reached Rp15.7 trillion, and export duties Rp5.8 trillion. The export value in April 2024 recorded a 1.7 percent growth at US$19.62 billion while import value reached US%16.06 billion or a 4.6 percent y-o-y growth.
