Previously, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan visited Johar Baru Market, Central Jakarta on Monday, December 4, 2023. He claimed that the average price of staple foods in the market was stable except for chili peppers.

"Everything is still stable, rice price is also stable although remaining high. Only our chili is still expensive," Zulhas said on Monday, December 30, 2023.

He said that the price of rice has started to fall but is still high at Rp 13,000 per kilogram. The highest retail price (HET) for rice is Rp10,900 per kilogram. Zulhas said this condition was due to the fact that it is not the harvest season.

Meanwhile, the price of eggs, Zulkifli said, is still in the range of Rp28,000 per kilogram. Then the price of chicken meat is Rp 35,000 per kilogram. According to him, the prices of these two commodities are in accordance with the reference prices set by the government.
