Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League have demanded the UN Security Council adopt a stern resolution on the situation in Israel and Palestine that has killed thousands of civilians in Gaza.
"What we convey is certainly our hope to the UNSC, there have been resolutions but the resolution is not comprehensive and we express our hope to the P5 countries (permanent members of the UN Security Council) to do more as the situation worsens," she said to Antara in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on Monday, November 20, 2023.
2. Indonesian Volunteers in Gaza Confirmed Safe by MER-C
The humanitarian organization MER-C president, Sarbini Abdul Murad, confirmed that three Indonesian citizens volunteering at the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza are safe and in good health following the Israeli attack on the hospital.
“We have not been able to communicate with our friends there until today,” Sarbini said at the MER-C press conference in Jakarta, on Monday, Nov. 21.
“But according to our informants there, the three MER-C volunteers, inshallah (if Allah wills it), are in good health. Several photos have been sent to us...and they are now in the Indonesian hospital,” he added.
3. Indonesia Gears Up to Implement JETP, Releases CIPP Document
The Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) financing scheme is entering a new stage. According to the Ad-Interim Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs Erick Thohir, the release of the Comprehensive Investment and Policy Plan (CIPP) document marked the end of the JETP planning stage.
"[JETP] is entering its implementation stage and Indonesia is serious about it," he said during the CIPP launch at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources office in Jakarta today, Tuesday, Nov. 21.
