TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The commemoration of World Tourism Day on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, was marked by the launching of the Bandung Great Sale. The shopping festivity will be held until November 18, 2023, in collaboration with more than 300 merchants across Bandung.
The Head Organizer of Bandung Great Sale 2023 Taufik Udjo, mentioned that the discounts offered by merchants range from 10 to 70 percent. According to Taufik, the discounts could be enjoyed in various venues such as malls, restaurants, cafes, hotels, the Bandung Tour on Bus, and travel vehicles. "The number of tenants participating in Bandung Great Sale will increase," he said.
Bandung Great Sale is also held to celebrate the 213th anniversary of Bandung City. The government partnered up with SMEs, seller associations, and tourism partner associations to hold the event.
Shopping for Rp100,000 or its multiplier will grant the buyers a coupon to be drawn on November 18 in Cihampelas Walk, Bandung. The lucky draw results in various gifts such as cars, motorcycles, and smartphones.
A day before the closing of the Bandung Great Sale, selected merchants will sell their products at Ciwalk. "The visitors of Bandung will be happy for the discounted items," he said.
Meanwhile, Bandung Economic and Development Assistant Eric M. Attauriq stated that this event will boost the city's economy. "This program is the realization of a collaboration between the government, private sector, and entrepreneurs," Eric wrote on Bandung's official website on Wednesday.
