TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives' Commission II has agreed to bring the revision of the National Capital Law (IKN) to a plenary meeting to be ratified as law next week. The revision was completed in just two months.
This was confirmed to Tempo by the commission's chairman, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, on Wednesday, 27 September.
On September 20, Commission II member Saan Mustopa said that they would immediately bring the revision of the IKN Law to a plenary session before recess.
He said that some of the amendments include articles on work partnerships, land use rights, and other items.
The government submitted a revision document to the IKN Law to the DPR on August 21 2023. This revision contains nine main amendments to ensure that the construction and relocation process of the nations capital from Jakarta to Nusantara goes as planned.
