TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Papanggo village head Tomi Haryono signed a deal with the provincial government of Jakarta to temporarily relocate former Bayam residents to the Nagrak Apartment in North Jakarta. Tomi signed the agreement in the Papanggo Village Office, overseen by a number of former Bayam residents and the Sub-district head of Koja, Ade Himawan.
The agreement consisted of four demands by the relocated residents. The displaced residents asked the provincial government of Jakarta to leave their tents standing until after the residents were relocated to Nagrak Apartment.
The residents also demanded a guarantee for the relocation process and ensured transportation in the form of a school bus to the new apartment was provided.
Lastly, former Bayam residents asked the government to ensure that the relocation to Nagrak Apartment is temporary.
"We are not sure until when [residing in Nagrak Apartment]. To relocate the residents to Bayam Village [apartment] is still awaiting the process," he said on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
Tomi hopes that the agreement is the best step taken and will pave the way to the best result for the displaced former Bayam Village residents.
