TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati visited the new capital city, Nusantara on September 21 and 22 to accompany President Joko Widodo following an invitation from Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono. To her personal Instagram account @smindrawati, she reported the progress at IKN, including the new state palace construction, a project that cost Rp1.34 trillion.
"I checked the board explaining the progress of the State Palace Building and Ceremonial Court construction project with a budget of Rp1.34 trillion. The progress has reached 27.5 percent and the overall construction project has reached 38 percent," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram video posted on September 22.
Sri Mulyani also attended the groundbreaking ceremony of two projects: the National Training Center and Abdi Waluyo Hospital, the first hospital in the archipelago.
She said that what she saw was "Tremendous progress, with natural challenges that are not easy, and great speed."
According to Sri Mulyani, President Jokowi said that the entire IKN development process was going according to plan. "Hopefully the development of IKN Nusantara will continue to run smoothly and according to plan," the minister said.
