TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Finance Ministry's National Single Window Agency (LNSW) has received delegates from the East African country of Tanzania and its autonomous region, Zanzibar, that are studying the implementation of Indonesia's single-window system.

The single-window system allows single submission of data and information, single and synchronous processing of data and information, as well as single decision-making for customs clearance and release of cargo.

"At present, the single-window system becomes a facility that enables trade and transportation actors to standardize their information and document through a single-entry point to fulfill all imports, exports, and legal requirements on the activities," stated LNSW Head Mochamad Agus Rofiudin on Friday, June 16, 2023.

Tanzania and Zanzibar authorities are currently in the process of developing the Tanzania Electronic Single Window System (TeSWS) that is expected to be completed before December 2023.

They observed that the progressive development of Indonesia's single-window system is bolstered by its domestic human resources. It then became one of their deciding factors to conduct a study visit to Indonesia.

"Furthermore, Indonesia engages in collaboration with various ministries and agencies, which is similar to the conditions in Tanzania, which also collaborates with other agencies in developing the single-window system," stated Zanzibari Ministry of Trade and Industrial Development's deputy principal secretary, Rashid.

He highlighted that the gradual development of Indonesia's single-window system, allowing it to be more measurable and evaluable, and hence, ensuring a better system, had also inspired Tanzania and Zanzibar.

The meeting between the LNSW and Tanzania and Zanzibar authorities could also be a deciding aspect to develop interoperability and bolster trade between both nations in future.
