TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Erick Thohir on Tuesday asserted that he is aiming to see the Indonesian national team win against the national team of Palestine ahead of the FIFA Matchday set to be held at East Java’s Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium on June 14.
He asserted the serious nature of the match and that it is not merely a friendly event.
“This will improve Indonesia’s points standing,” said Erick to journalists as he oversaw the completion of the stadium’s preparation on June 6. “Whatever the result may be, we just need to prove our best.”
The Indonesian team is eyeing to break into the FIFA top 100 rank and has once expressed on aiming to place 45th by the year 2045.
The Indonesia - Palestine national football team match will be held five days before the Indonesian team faces with Argentina’s national team. The latter is set to be held in Jakarta’s Gelora Bung Karno stadium.
Ticket sales for the Indonesian vs Palestine national team will begin on Wednesday, June 7. A total of 40,000 tickets are broken down into the economy and VIP categories, each costing Rp 100,000 and Rp 250,000.
Purchases can be made via e-commerce tiket.com and the PSSI website and 10 percent of the ticket sales will be donated for the people of Palestine.
