Jokowi to Announce Salary Hike for Civil Servants, TNI, and Police on August 16

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo will announce a policy on the increase in the salary of civil servants or state apparatus (PNS/ASN) and military and police personnel, as well as retirees in a speech on the 2024 State Budget Bill on August 16, 2023.
“Pak President will convey the 2024 State Budget Bill on August 16. One of the things we are seriously calculating in detail is the salary hike for ASN, TNI, Polri, and retirees,” Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said after attending a meeting at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.
The decision on the amount of the salary increase will be conveyed by the President in his speech related to the bill on the State Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2024 along with the Financial Notes.
The speech will be delivered on August 16, 2023, after the President gives a state speech at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta.
As previously reported, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas said he had proposed a salary increase for civil servants to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani during the national meeting for the implementation of the 2023 budget at the Finance Ministry office in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
