GBK Stadium Off Limits Ahead of Argentina - Indonesia Friendly Match

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PSSI Chairperson Erick Thohir in Wednesday’s press conference confirmed that the FIFA matchday that will pit the Indonesian national football team with Argentina in a friendly match is set to be held at the Senayan Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on June 19.
Three representatives of the Argentinian football federation have directly monitored the location and deemed it fit for the much-anticipated match. The representatives comprise the Argentine Football Federation (AFA) consisting of Supporter of Oltre Consulting Account AFA Pablo Sebastian Wergifker, Team Manager of Argentina, Daniel Cabrera, and Oltre Consulting Account AFA Maria Cristina Russo.
“I spoke to them today [Wednesday, May 24] upon monitoring the standards of the stadium, practice field, and everything else,” said Erick Thohir. “The Gelora Bung Karno Stadium must not be used for any other activities from June 16 to June 20.”
Apart from preparing the physical condition in the field, Erick also says a full security protocol will be mobilized to secure the Argentinian football players.
The certainty of the friendly match with Argentina’s national team was announced by PSSI after receiving an official letter from AFC and FIFA. AFA initially first announced this through its official website as part of La Albiceleste's Asian tour which will the Argentinian national football team first face Australia in China on June 15 before Lionel Messi and his entourage departs for Jakarta.
