Rp688 T in Tax Revenue Attained, Says Finance Minister

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on Monday said that Indonesia’s tax revenue up to April reached a total of Rp 688.15 trillion, which she deemed a moderate growth.
"If we look at everything, it is still growing, even though the growth is still moderate," said the Minister in a virtual press conference on Monday, May 22.
Sri Mulyani elaborated that, VAT (Value Added Tax) and PPnBM (Value Added Tax on Luxury Goods) collected Rp 239.9 trillion which is 32.30 percent of the target. She says this is a 24.9 percent growth compared to the same period last year.
"Non-oil and gas Pph (income tax) is Rp 410.92 trillion or 47.04 percent of the total target. It is still growing by 20.1 percent," she explained.
The PBB (Land and Building Tax) and other taxes reached Rp 4.92 trillion or 12.30 percent of the growth target of 102.62 percent. Meanwhile, oil and gas PPH reached Rp 32.33 trillion or 52.62 percent of the targeted growth of 5.44 percent in the same period last year.
"In total, we’ve reached 40.05 percent of this year's target. Growth of 21.3 percent is still high, but last year [tax revenue] grew higher, namely 51.4 percent compared to April 2022," said Sri Mulyani.
