Investment Minister Working to Settle New Capital City's Land Rights

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan said that issues related to land acquisition at the location of the future new capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in Kalimantan must be resolved soon. Luhut said that this issue can affect investments in the region.
"Everything must have provide certainty for investors," said Luhut during his trip to the IKN construction area on Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Luhut said that the Investment Acceleration Task Force would coordinate across ministries/agencies on real-time updates regarding this issue. "We will periodically check the progress in the field," said Luhut who was recently entrusted by President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo to lead the aforementioned Task Force.
Meanwhile, the Head of the New Capital City Authority, Bambang Susantono, previously said that President Jokowi ordered him to speed up the investment realization and land settlements according to the corridors of the applicable laws and regulations.
“We intend to make everything clean and clear,” said the New Capital Head Authority, “What is offered to investors are land plots that are clear in terms of value and status.”
