TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The competition to purchase a ticket to the Coldplay concert in Jakarta is extremely tense. In today's presale exclusively opened on the BCA application, the highest ticket price for the category Ultimate Experience worth Rp11 million sold out within six minutes.
Based on Tempo’s monitoring on the official sales page today, May 17, many would-be buyers faced difficulties accessing the sales page, forcing them to wait in the queue for quite a long time.
When accessing the page exactly at 10:00 Jakarta time as the sales opened, they are asked to be on standby instead of going straight to the waiting page.
Not a few are requested to wait because more than 500,000 people accessed the page simultaneously. The waiting room is reportedly full.
“The waiting room is full. There are more than 500.000 users waiting in front of you. Please wait and try again after a few moments,” the page said.
It takes four minutes to log in but there are already 20,000 queues, and it is barred from refreshing the page.
Within just six minutes after the ticket sales opened or at 10:06 Jakarta time, the Ultimate Experience (CAT 1) category, which costs Rp11 million, has already been full-booked.
At 10:40 Jakarta time or 40 minutes after the Coldplay ticket sales opened, all categories are sold out. But many prospective buyers choose to remain on the waiting page for ticket restocks or failed payments so tickets can be available again.
