Jokowi Visits Labuan Bajo, Checks on Readiness for ASEAN Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo visited Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai on Sunday, April 23, 2023, to check on the region's readiness to host the 42nd ASEAN Summit, which is scheduled to take place from May 9 until May 11, 2023.

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana arrived in Labuan Bajo on Saturday evening at 6:30 PM Central Indonesian Time.
In a video call with Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, which was broadcasted by the Presidential Secretary Youtube channel, Jokowi said he will be visiting Labuan Bajo to check on the readiness for the upcoming ASEAN Summit.
The ASEAN Summit is scheduled to be attended by ASEAN heads of state and other delegates. As many as 1,156 rooms in 22 hotels and resorts in Labuan Bajo have been prepared to accommodate the delegates and local organizing committee.
