TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo stated that he would soon reshuffle the Indonesia Onward Cabinet. The cabinet shake-up will be conducted to fill the vacant position of Youth and Sports Minister after Zainudin Amali stepped down.
“[It’ll be conducted] immediately,” Jokowi told journalists in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Wednesday, March 29.
When asked for a specific time, he shortly replied, “soon.”
Zainudin Amali decided to resign as a minister after being elected as Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI). The Golkar politician said he wanted to focus on managing the national football.
Golkar Party claimed to have submitted three names for ministerial candidates to President Jokowi. They are Puteri Anetta Komarudin or known as Puteri Komarudin, Ilham Permana, and Dito Ariotedjo.
“There are Puteri, Ilham, and Tito. There are three names. Let the president choose later,” said the Chairman of the Regional Autonomy Department of the Golkar Party, Muhammad Fauzi, at the Parliament Building, on Friday, March 10.
Despite having received three names from Golkar, President Jokowi appointed Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy as Acting Minister of Youth and Sports.
