TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - E-commerce platform Tokopedia said that the average value of online tax transactions in 2022 rose by almost 250 percent. This was based on the platform's internal data on the value of transactions in Tokopedia's 'Online Tax' feature, the company official said.
Tokopedia's director of public policy and government relations Astri Wahyuni said that the collaboration between Tokopedia and strategic partners, such as the Finance Ministry's Directorate General of Taxes, has proven to encourage people to fulfill their tax obligations.
Not only online taxes, but Tokopedia also noted that the value of other transactions increased through this feature, including PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenue); payments for passports, KUA, and traffic e-tickets; customs, and state securities or SBN.
"Each recorded a transaction increase of more than 200 percent, more than 350 percent, and more than 500 percent when compared to 2021," she said in a press statement quoted on Wednesday, March 29.
The Tax Directorate's director of counseling, services, and public relations Dwi Astuti said her office facilitates the public to fulfill their tax obligations through various institutions such as banks, post offices, fintech to e-commerce.
Dwi said the synergy with various parties, including Tokopedia, was carried out to increase public compliance in paying state revenue, especially taxes.
