EV Charging Stations Open in 8 Rest Areas of Trans Java Toll Road

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe government has prepared a number of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) along the Trans Java Toll Road, which is the main Eid homecoming or mudik route.

The Transportation Ministry predicted that the number of travelers for Eid 2023 will increase to 123.8 million people compared to last year's number. The majority of travelers are also presumed to use private vehicles, such as cars and motorcycles.

The Head of the Toll Road Authority (BPJT) of the Public Works and Housing Ministry, Danang Parikesit, explained that several EV charging stations are ready to serve home-comers, including in the KM 207A and KM 389B rest areas of the Trans Java Toll Road. 

"We ask all toll road's rest areas to be ready to be accessed by the public," said Danang as quoted from the BPJT’s official website on Monday, March 27, 2023.

Electric car users can check the location of the nearest SPKLU through the PLN Mobile application. Here is the location of SPKLU along the Trans Java Toll Road:

1. Rest Area KM 6 (Jakarta-Cikampek)

2. Rest Area KM 207 A (Palikanci, Cirebon)

3. Rest Area KM 208 B (Palikanci)

4. Rest Area KM 379 A (Semarang-Batang)

5. Rest Area KM 389 B (Batang-Semarang)

6. Rest Area KM 519 A (Solo-Ngawi)

7. Rest Area KM 519 B (Ngawi-Solo)

8. Rest Area KM 626 B (Kertosono-Madiun).
