State Secretariat Forms Team to Investigate All Employees' Wealth

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The State Secretariat Ministry established an internal verification team to investigate assets belonging to Esha Rahmanshah Abrar, Head of the General Bureau's Vehicle Administration Subunit, who has been under the public spotlight on social media because his wife allegedly showed off their wealth on social media.

“Inspectorate,” said Secretary of State Secretariat Setya Utama when asked about who leads the team, on Sunday, March 19.

Esha's wife seemed to love to flex their luxurious lifestyle on social media, which put her in the public spotlight. Internet users then compared Esha's wealth and his position as a IIIC official at the State Secretariat Ministry.

The team will not only investigate Esha's assets but all state civil servants or ASN in the State Secretariat. In addition, the State Secretariat stated that it would consult with the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center or PPATK, and other institutions.

This is aimed at obtaining comprehensive facts and data as a basis for following up on the irregularity of the acquisition of the official's assets. The State Secretariat also promised to announce the results to the public as a commitment to support the eradication of corruption, collusion, and nepotism, as well as practices against the law.

“The State Secretariat offers apologies to the public for the uproar that has caused inconvenience to society,” said Head of Public Relations Bureau of the State Secretariat Eddy Cahyono Sugiarto in a written statement, Sunday, March 19.

The State Secretariat has officially temporarily suspended Esha from his position to facilitate the verification process.
