Landslide Hits Bogor; KAI Cancels All Trips of KA Pangrango Today

TEMPO.CO, JakartaLandslides hit the KM2+6/7 railway between Paledang and Batu Tulis Station, disrupting train trips of KA Pangrango of the Bogor - Sukabumi route. 

Eva Chairunisa, a spokesperson for the state-owned railway company PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Region (Daop) 1 Jakarta, confirmed that all trips of KA Pangrango were canceled today, March 15.

Customers who already purchased the ticket for today’s trip of the Bogor - Sukabumi route could apply for refunds and will get them in full at Bogor/Paledang Station, Sukabumi Station, or other stations.

Eva said the ticket cancelation process can be done in the next seven days. “Affected customers can switch to other transportation modes in the meantime,” she added.

According to the KAI spokesperson, the repair of the damaged tracks caused by landslides and extreme weather was still ongoing. People in need of information regarding ticket cancelation can reach KAI Contact Center.

The landslide occurred in Sirna Sari Village, Empang subdistrict, South Bogor at 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, hitting five residential houses below the railway and affecting 17 people. Of the figure, 11 people survived, two died, and the other four are still missing.
