Bengkulu Struck by 5,0 M Earthquake

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that the region of Bengkulu was struck by a 5.0 magnitude earthquake on Friday morning, March 3.
The center of the quake was 47 kilometers Southwest of Bengkulu. The hypocenter was detected at 58 kilometers underground.
Head of BMKG tsunami and earthquake center Daryono said it was classified as a shallow earthquake caused by subduction activities originating from the Indo-Australia plates.
The agency said no tsunami warnings were triggered due to this earthquake.
