TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo claimed he has kept abreast of developments in the assault case of Mario Dandy Satrio, son of a Tax Directorate General official Rafael Alun Trisambodo on social media.
“In my opinion, yes, people deserve to be disappointed because the service is deemed not good, and then the apparatus shows arrogant behavior and shows off the power and wealth, and exercises hedonic lifestyle,” said the President when opening the Plenary Cabinet Session at the Jakarta State Palace, on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
He also understands the public's disappointment after seeing the behavior of Mario Dandy and an official from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Eko Darmanto, who often show off their wealth on social media.
“From the comments that I read both in the field and on social media, I know very well about the public's disappointment with our apparatus,” he added, validating people's upset about the issue.
The Head of State also reminded that the bureaucratic reform program executed by the government thus far is aimed at serving the people well.
Jokowi thus underlined that government officials must not provide bad service, especially accompanied by arrogant behavior and showing off power and wealth. This does not mean that it is only related to the institution under the Finance Ministry. “But also the police and other law enforcement agencies, bureaucracies,” he said.
