TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The consortium of Jakarta-Bandung Bullet Train, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia Cina or KCIC, is involving 29 students of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to conduct monitoring of track slab dan track laying of the fast train project.
The ITB students of the Civil Engineering major will conduct the monitoring for the period of February-March 2023.
KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Rahadian Ratry, said that students' involvement is highly important in the development of the high-speed rail industry in Indonesia. This also acts as a knowledge transfer that would be beneficial for the development of the country in the future.
"Their focus is to report the result of track slab and track laying installations," Rahadian said in a press statement on Saturday, Feb. 25.
Rahadian hoped the students would monitor and learn from the high-speed rail project that has recently been implemented in Indonesia, and even in ASEAN.
"This collaboration will give the railway industry in Indonesia a good future," said Rahadian. The Jakarta-Bandung Bullet Train is targeted to operate in June 2023.
