24 February 2023 19:58 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presetiya Mulya University officially expelled Mario Dandy Satriyo (20) on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Mario has come under the spotlight lately after going viral on social media for violently battering a male high school student. Later, it was discovered that Mario is the son of a tax office official.

"A meeting among university leaders has decided to expel the suspect Mario Dandy Satriyo,” said Prasetiya Mulya University rector Djisman Simandjuntak on Friday, February 24, 2023.

The rector asserted that the criminal case involving Mario has been thoroughly observed by campus officials, which led to the conclusion that Mario had violated the campus humanitarian and code of ethics rules.

"We convey our deepest condolences for the severe injuries sustained by the victim," said the rector.

The Criminal Case Incriminating Mario

The South Jakarta Police has named Mario as a suspect for committing violence against a high school student identified as D. The vicious beating happened at the Grand Permata Complex in South Jakarta on February 20, 2023.

The violent beating sent D into a coma. Further investigation discovered that D is the son of one of the managers of a local Islamic organization branch, GP Ansor.

Mario's father Rafael Alun Trisambodo later issued a public apology for the action committed by his son.

Mario’s Lavish Lifestyle

The crime Mario committed eventually spread to other aspects of his personal life after his lavish lifestyle came under fire from social media users. Prior to the disappearance of Mario’s social media accounts, the suspect is known to show off his daily lavish lifestyle by riding luxurious motorcycles and cars.

Following Mario's action, Rafael Alun Trisambodo was stripped of his position as the Head of the South Jakarta Tax Office, which was announced directly by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.
