Jaklingko Serves Purchase of Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Railway Tickets

2 February 2023 17:23 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPT JakLingko Indonesia, a subsidiary of a Jakarta-owned company, has officially become a partner in the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway project (KCJB), serving its ticket purchase.

This was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by JakLingko President Director Muhamad Kamaluddin and President Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia China (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi at the PT KCIC Office, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. KCIC is the consortium responsible for the railway project.

“We appreciate the opportunity for JakLingko Indonesia to be able to serve ticket purchase for the Jakarta-Bandung fast train which is connected with [other] public transportation,” said Kamaluddin in an official statement, Thursday, February 2, 2023.

As reported by Antara, Kamaluddin hoped that public transport users would be easier to travel using one application and card. Through this synergy, JakLingko was optimistic that the fast train, which was one of the national strategic projects, will be widely used, especially by people in Greater Jakarta or Jabodetabek and its vicinity.

“We see 2023 as the year of pride for Indonesian transportation with the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train, the first in Southeast Asia supported by the Digital Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform, JakLingko Indonesia,” he explained.

The JakLingko app and transportation card, which has now been downloaded and owned by more than 400,000 people, can be used to make payments for multimodal transport tickets for MRT Jakarta, TransJakarta, LRT Jakarta, and Commuter Line or KRL.
