BKPM Head Appreciates GoTo for Promoting Local MSME at WEF Davos 2023

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesia is home to some of the world’s best coffee beans. This year, one of Indonesia’s coffee brands even made it to the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2023 in Davos, Switzerland.

Space Roastery, a Yogyakarta-based coffee brand, is present at the Indonesia Pavilion as one of GoTo’s business partners to introduce local brands to the global stage.

"We are very grateful to GoTo for giving Space Roastery the extraordinary opportunity to showcase and introduce Indonesian coffee to the WEF 2023 international delegations at the Indonesia Pavilion," said William Christiansen, owner of Space Roastery and representative of GoTo Partner.

Visitors to the Indonesia Pavilion from various countries also had the opportunity to enjoy Indonesian customer favorites, such as Halu Pink Banana from West Java, Fine Robusta from Temanggung, The Forbidden Fruit from West Java and Gunung Prau, and Kopi Susu Gula Aren (milky coffee with palm sugar).

Space Roastery was chosen as a GoTo business partner representative thanks to its perseverance in building its business and overcoming the difficulties during the pandemic by utilizing digital business solutions from the GoTo ecosystem.

Since the beginning of its business, Space Roastery has utilized the Tokopedia marketplace platform to sell its products and used GoFood services to expand its market reach. The coffee shop, which was founded in 2016, also uses various other business solutions in the GoTo ecosystem, such as GoBiz, MOKA, and Midtrans, for business operational efficiency.

According to William, the digital business solutions Space Roastery utilized from the GoTo ecosystem have had a positive impact on their business with a 143% increase in sales in 2021 compared to the previous year." In addition, Space Roastery was also able to absorb workers by empowering about 60 employees and on average, we sold 1 million cups of coffee every month in 2022."

The aroma of Space Roastery coffee is bringing not only a story about the wealth of resources, but also the resilience of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in adapting to the GoTo digital ecosystem. The presence of Space Roastery highlights the collaboration between the government and GoTo as a local company in boosting productivity in the SMEs sector.

In addition to digital business solutions, GoTo also provides education and training through the Mitra Usaha GoTo website, which was launched in mid-2022. At the launch, the Chief Corporate Affairs of GoTo, Nila Marita, stated, "As the largest digital ecosystem in Indonesia, we are committed to providing the most comprehensive business solution services for all business actors to grow together with the help of digital technology. The Mitra Usaha GoTo website reinforces GoTo's mission to continuously open up opportunities for MSMEs and other business actors at every stage of growth."

Furthermore, GoTo also facilitates various inclusive communities such as GoFood Partner Community (KOMPAG), Keluarga Tokopedia (K-TOP), GoTo Financial Retail Community (KONTAG), A Cup of MOKA, and Tokopedia Seller Education Center, which can be utilized as a business development tool for GoTo business partners.
