Cap Go Meh Bogor Street Festival Returns This Week

1 February 2023 14:55 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Cap Go Meh Bogor Street Festival (CGM-BSF 2023) returned to be held last January 2023. The main event will take place on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

The organizing committee head Arifin Himawan said the bazaar and street market have been opened on Jalan Raya Suryakencana. “Street market is available around Suryakencana, which is probably nearly sold out, and bazaar was opened by the Mayor,” he said on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.

The street festival is part of the cultural event as a form of unity and diversity in Bogor City. The annual event has also been listed in the national tourism agenda dubbed Karisma Event Nusantara.

Arifin explained that the event will present a cultural parade involving 60 art and creative groups along the 2.1-kilometer road of Jalan Raya Suryakencana until Sukasari junction. The festival will last from 3 p.m. until 12 p.m.

The number of visitors was predicted to reach thousands considering previous events were held limitedly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus the event would likely cause traffic density. Visitors were advised to check the traffic and parking lots provided by the organizing committee.

“Visitors are welcomed to this free event, as there is no entrance ticket. This cultural event is a miniature of Indonesia's diversity and unity,” said Arifin.
