Tourism Returns to Normal in Yogyakarta, Daily Covid-19 Cases Number Nearly Reaches Zero

TEMPO.CO, Yogyakarta - The tourism sector in the Special Region of Yogyakarta is now seemingly return to normal in the early 2023, despite still accompanied by decreasing daily Covid-19 cases which increasingly shows a positive trend.
For three consecutive days from Saturday to Monday, January 28 to 30, 2023, the daily cases that emerged have rarely exceeded three cases from all the results of finding within five regencies/cities in Yogyakarta. "Currently, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Yogyakarta in total are three cases," said the Coordinator of the Public Relations section of the General Bureau, Yogyakarta Regional Secretariat, Ditya Nanaryo Aji on Monday.
On January 28, only one case was discovered in the province, and by January 29, there were only two new cases. With the drastic decrease in Covid-19 daily cases ahead of early February, the total active case in Yogyakarta manages to drop below 100 or 84 active cases.
The regional secretary of the Yogyakarta Government, Aman Yuriadijaya, stated that even with the cases decreasing and the flow of tourism progressing smoothly, the vaccination campaign, especially for the second booster, is still being escalated. "Next week (early February), we will start to conduct the step for the second booster vaccination service," he said.
Aman stated that the second booster vaccination service would be carried out along with both the first and second doses of vaccination and the first booster doses that are still being applied in Yogyakarta. "The focus of the second booster vaccination would be toward workers and the elderly," he said.
