Jokowi to Depart for Bali on 1st February amid Cabinet Reshuffle Issue

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung confirmed that President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is scheduled to fly to Bali next Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Pramono made the statement in response to issues that the President will announce a cabinet reshuffle on that day, which coincides with Wednesday Pon in the Javanese calendar.
"I don't know. I’ll accompany the President to Bali on Wednesday. We’ll depart in the afternoon," said the PDIP politician when asked about the reshuffle issue at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, January 30, 2023.
Pramono also refused to provide further detail on the President’s agenda before leaving for Bali. "On Wednesday afternoon, we’ll fly to Bali [and stay there] until Thursday. Thank you. Even though I know [the issue], I'm sorry [I can’t talk of it],” Pramono said.
On Sunday, January 29, Jokowi provided a brief response when asked for confirmation regarding the cabinet shake-up issue which would be announced on February 1, 2022. “Really? Wednesday Pon? Is it true? Well, just wait,” Jokowi said after inaugurating the kick-off of the ASEAN Indonesia Presidency at the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Central Jakarta on Sunday, January 29, 2022.
The issue about the cabinet reshuffle to be announced on Wednesday Pon was first conveyed by the PDIP central executive board chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat. Djarot asserted that it is inevitable. The ministers from the NasDem Party were reportedly the targets.
“Yes, it’s inevitable. I think that's for sure. When? Don't ask me. It usually [be announced] on Wednesday Pon. Every month has Wednesday Pon. Let's wait for which month,” Djarot said concerning Jokowi's potential cabinet reshuffle at the PDIP Office, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
