Kadin Inaugurates Indonesia Trading House in Switzerland; First in Europe

26 January 2023 13:21 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in tandem with Pasar Indonesia AG inaugurated the Indonesia Trading House (ITH), which is aimed at increasing the supply of Indonesian products to Switzerland and Europe.

Deputy chair for Kadin’s organization, legal, and communication Unit, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, said ITH Switzerland was Kadin's first collaboration with the diaspora in Europe and would be replicated in various countries.

"The inauguration of ITH is proof of the success of the collaboration between Kadin and partners in Switzerland (Pasar Indonesia AG). We appreciate the support from the Indonesian Embassy in Bern and the Indonesian Trade Ministry. In principle, we will continue to support Indonesian goods to penetrate the European market,” Yukki said in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday, January 26, 2023.

The ITH inauguration was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein Muliaman Hadad and Cooperatives and SMEs Minister Teten Masduki and attended by the Indonesian Trade Attache in Geneva at the Pasar Indonesia shop, Aargau, Switzerland, last Wednesday.

“We also understand the main concern of the Indonesian diaspora about the high cost of logistics. Hopefully, we can find solutions together regarding the logistics issues,” Yukki added.

On that occasion, Cooperatives and SMEs Minister Teten highly appreciated efforts to establish ITH in Switzerland, especially for the opportunities for Indonesian MSMEs products to enter the global market, especially Europe.

“I think with the support of technology, it will now be quite easy to help sell Indonesian products through the diaspora network, as long as there is a partner who provides the warehouse,” said Minister Teten.
