KAI Notes 99% Long-distance Train Occupancy During Chinese New Year Holiday

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's state railway company PT KAI noted that the occupancy rate of long-distance train trips was almost full during the Chinese New Year weekend. As of Monday, January 23, KAI sold 456,103 long-distance trip tickets, which is 99.6 percent of what is provided during the holiday period.
"This volume increased by 13 percent compared to the previous week when KAI served 400,309 long-distance train customers," the company's VP of public relations Joni Martinus told Tempo on Monday.
During the Chinese New Year Holiday, which was from January 20 to 23, KAI operated 919 long-distance trains with an average of 230 trips daily.
"It's an increase compared to the previous week when KAI operated 909 train trips," he said.
For the holidays, KAI provides 18,576 cheap tickets with special prices starting at Rp100,000 for numerous destinations. The New Year Deals promotion was aimed at improving service to customers to coincide with the New Year 2023 and Lunar New Year 2574 moments.
