TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Honda and Sony introduced their prototype smart electric vehicle, Afeela, at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The vehicle is targeted to enter the market starting in 2025.
Afeela is claimed to be a smart electric car equipped with several modern devices. Afeela's interactive connection allows users to experience mobility as intelligent entities using advanced sensing and networking technologies.
To support safety and security features, Afeela will be equipped with a total of 45 cameras and sensors inside and outside the vehicle.
To advance the intelligence of mobility, SoC from Qualcomm Technologies' Snapdragon Digital Chassis will be used in key features including AD/ADAS, HMI/IVI, and telematics. Sony-Honda Mobility will establish a technological strategic partnership with Qualcomm Technologies to create mobility experiences.

Sony Honda Mobility plans to develop a production model based on the prototype and intends to begin the pre-orders in early 2025.
The company would then start the sales at the end of 2025, and the shipping would begin in mid-2026 in North America.
