TEMPO.CO, JakartaFemale British racer, Jamie Chadwick, joined the 2023 driver academy for the Formula 1 team Williams.

Chadwick, a three-time champion in the all-female W Series, said that her dream of appearing in the world's most prestigious international race is still being kept alive.

The 24-year-old racer will receive a training program and support from team Williams via a simulator at their Grove factory in Oxfordshire, England. There is no mention that Chadwick will participate in Friday's free practice at a Grand Prix weekend.

"To be continuing my relationship with Williams is amazing; I’ve had their support since 2019. Having the opportunity to immerse myself within the team and keep that Formula One dream alive is very important," said Chadwick, as quoted from Reuters, Thursday, January 19, 2023.

This season, Chadwick will compete with Andretti Autosport in the 2023 Indy NXT Championship race in the United States, a feeder series for IndyCar.

Formula 1 has not yet had any female racers since the last time in 1976, while IndyCar has already had eight female racers participating in the previous two decades.
