Sean Gelael Receives Appreciation from IMI for Winning 3rd Place at 24H Dubai

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian racer Sean Gelael completed the 24H Series Endurance Race in Dubai (24H Dubai) on Sunday, January 15, 2023. In the race which took place at the Dubai Autodrome, United Arab Emirates, Gelael and his team managed to take the third podium.

Joining Team WRT 46, Sean Gelael teamed up with Valentino Rossi, Maxime Martin, Max Hesse, and Tim Whale. They managed to show great cooperation which led them to successfully achieve third place.

The result made the general chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo, admire Sean Gelael's performance at the 24H Dubai, considering that the race is the first time Sean collaborated with Rossi, Whale, Maxime and Hesse.

"Sean Gelael and his team achieved another international achievement by finishing third in the 24H Endurance race at the Dubai Autodrome, United Arab Emirates," he said, quoted by Tempo.co from Antara.

"This is the first collaboration between Sean, Valentino Rossi, Maxime Martin, Max Hesse and Tim Whale. The results are very satisfying by achieving the third podium," added Soesatyo, who also serves as Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia (MPR-RI).

Soesatyo further stated that Sean Gelael managed to show a great performance during the 24H Dubai endurance race by improving the position of Team WRT 46.

"When Sean held the wheel, he managed to put WRT 46 in second place. Valentino Rossi came down as the last racer to take the wheel. Only because of the many penalties that Team WRT 46 received, their position dropped and they finished in third because they were two laps behind at the finish line," he said.

"Finishing in the third position itself is an extraordinary achievement for anyone, especially for Sean Gelael because he races with new partners, it is not easy. Furthermore, Sean will focus on FIA WEC, while Rossi would focus on the GT World Challenge European. Both are still part of the Team WRT," he concluded.
