Malaysia Open 2023 Results, Dejan and Gloria Advances to the Quarter Finals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian mixed doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (Dejan / Gloria) have managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open 2023. Their advances were after they defeated Hong Kong mixed doubles, Tang Chun Man / Tse Ying Suet at the Axianta Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Dejan and Gloria managed to win in two straight games with a point of 21-17 and 21-16 over the fifth seed in the BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament. In the first game, Dejan / Gloria had no trouble beating their opponents. After gaining 4-1 due to Tang / Tse's failure to return Dejan's smash, the Indonesian pair managed to widen the points gap by 7-3.

Tang / Tse put up a fight and their points were nearly equal. However, Dejan / Gloria managed to up the points to intervals 11-9.

Tang's smash tied the points 12-12. The Indonesian pair returned to the lead with a point of 16-12 after the pairs from Hong Kong did not anticipate the shot from Gloria. Gloria / Dejan took the lead again 19-16 after Tang / Tse failed to return a smash from Gloria. The match was won by Dejan / Gloria with a point of 21-16 after Tang / Tse were unable to return Dejan's hard smash. In the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open 2023, Dejan / Gloria will face the winner of the match between Chinese representatives, Wang Yi Lyu / Huang Dong Ping and Korean representatives, Kim Won Ho / Jeong Na Eun.
