Jokowi Takes Grandchildren on Educational Tour to Prambanan Temple

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourists visiting Prambanan Temple today, Jan. 7, were surprised by the visit of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi and his family. The President who came with the First Lady Iriana Jokowi and their grandchildren aimed at promoting the educational tour.
Jokowi who came with his eldest son Gibran Rakabuming Raka, his daughter-in-law Selvi Ananda, as well as two grandchildren, namely Jan Ethes Srinarendra and La Lembah Manah were guided by the Head of the Cultural Preservation Center of Region X at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Manggar Sari. While walking around, Manggar explained the history of the Prambanan Temple.
The President's first grandchild, Jan Ethes, seemed to listen thoughtfully to Manggar's explanation about the world heritage. "This is the largest one," said Manggar while pointing at the Shiva Temple which is 47 meters high.
The presence of the President's family attracted the enthusiasm of the visitors. "I didn't expect that. [We are] on a field trip when Pak Jokowi visiting," said one of the visitors, Amelia.
Prambanan Temple Tourism Park is one of the favored destinations in Indonesia. The temple is also often a destination for educational tours for students from various regions.
