Indonesia to Host UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup in 2023

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is set to host the first round of the UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup 2023. The multi-race tournament reward points for cyclist looking to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Nations Cup is scheduled to be held at East Jakarta's International Velodrome in Rawamangun on February 23 to 26, 2023. Competition classes in the cup will follow the classes run in the Olympics from keirin to individual sprint, team sprint, Madison, Omnium, and team pursuit.
The Indonesian Sports Cycling Association immediately held a coordination meeting with the Indonesian Olympics Committee (KOI) and a number of international associations to discuss preparations for the event.
This meeting was also attended by Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Head of Track Gilles Peruzzi.
“This is a world championship that is nearly on par with Formula 1 due to its large exposure and covered by 135 countries and participated by 50 nations and around 600 athletes,” said KOI executive committee Jadi Rajagukguk on Friday, December 2, 2022, as quoted by Antaranews.
