TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Low-cost carrier of the Singapore Airlines Group, Scoot, recorded a number of favorite international destinations for Indonesian passengers, including Bangkok, Berlin, Narita, and Incheon of South Korea.
“We have seen an increase in demand for international flights,” the airline's general manager for Indonesia, Johanes Ong, told Tempo on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Indonesia has been a major network of Singapore-based airlines. To date, it serves flights from eight cities, including Lombok, Yogyakarta, Pekanbaru, Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Manado.
Indonesia, Johanes commented, remains a key network for the airline and will remain committed to continuing services to all Indonesian destinations operated prior to the pandemic.
At present, Scoot operates 71 routes in 15 countries and territories across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
Ahead of the year-end holiday, the number of international flights was predicted to increase. Singapore as the hub will connect passengers from many states, particularly to northern Asian routes.
“We operate non-stop daily flights to Tokyo (Narita), Seoul (Incheon), and Osaka, five flights a week to Jeju, 18 flights a week to Taipei, and four flights a week to Hong Kong,” Johanes outlined.
Scoot has also opened a seasonal non-stop flight route between Singapore and Hokkaido (Sapporo) from November 2022 to February 2023 to accommodate passengers in the late 2022 and early 2023 holiday season.
