TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) fully supports the plan to accelerate the electrification era in Indonesia by supporting the triple helix collaboration with the automotive industry, universities, and the government.

The Toyota director of External Relations Bob Azam explained several things that made Indonesia's position could go down or up in the global market.

"The unorganized transition of vehicle electrification will weaken Indonesia's position as a global base for the automotive industry. The presence of a variety of complete low-emission vehicle electrification technologies through a multi-pathway strategy approach will be the key to Indonesia's success in developing faster and pursuing its position as the main player in the production and exporter of electric vehicles on the international stage," he said.

He further said that Toyota has prepared a strategy to welcome a greener and environmentally friendly era of electrification. One of them, according to Bob Azam, is to consider the availability of energy.

"In addition, the roadmap for the national automotive industry must be prepared to take into account the availability of energy, especially non-renewable natural resources. Government support in the transportation sector through UIO (Unit in Operations) management has also become an important element in maintaining the positive position and contribution of the national automotive industry for more than 5 decades," said Bob Azam.

Apart from welcoming the era of electrification, the triple helix collaboration is also considered to be able to reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, the event titled 'Electrification Development Transition Strategy in Indonesia & Unit Management in Operation in Indonesia' can provide answers to a sustainable economy.

"It is hoped that the presence of these national seminars will give an answer to the challenges in the upcoming electrification era and encourage a comprehensive strategy to accommodate diverse requirements of a complete vehicle electrification that is environmentally friendly while taking into account the goal of reducing carbon emissions and ensuring sustainable economic growth," added Bob Azam.
