Truck Delivering Aid to Cianjur Earthquake Victims Crashes into Minibus in Puncak

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A logistics truck delivering aid to victims of the Cianjur Earthquake was involved in an accident on Jalan Raya Puncak, Ciloto on Wednesday, November 30. Initial investigations suggested that the truck's brakes were not working.
The truck collided with a minibus at Puncak Ciloto Road. The truck overturned on the roadside, causing a traffic jam. There were no casualties in the accident.
The truck's driver, Ali (43), was driving from Bogor to Cianjur. While on a downhill road from Pengkolan Village in Ciloto Village, Cianjur Regency, the truck's brakes failed.
"Just before it rolled over, I was going downhill and wanted to hit the brake when it failed and I panicked," said Ali. "The vehicle ended up hitting a minibus that was traveling from the opposite direction, and finally overturned."
Ali said he was delivering logistical assistance to the victims of the Cianjur Earthquake but did not say from which agency. The accident is now being handled by the police.
