TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The crash victims of the water police unit (Polairud) helicopter number BO-105 P-1103 belonging to the Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam) at the National Police Headquarters in East Belitung Waters have been found.
Head of Public Relations of the Bangka Belitung Regional Police, Chief Commissioner Ahmad Maladi, said that the latest victim is identified as Joko Mudo with the rank of Adjunct Police Inspector Two (Aipda) who served as a helicopter technician.
"The body was found around the Manggar sea, East Belitung Regency, or 15 miles from the search post on Tuesday evening, November 29, 2022, at around 23:00 WIB," Maladi told Tempo on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Maladi said that the body of Joko Mudo was found by fishermen from Tanjung Binga Village, Sijuk District, Belitung Regency. "These fishermen went to sea using a motorboat. The bodies were discovered when they were about to lift the fishing nets," he said.
According to Maladi, the process of evacuating Joko Mudo's body took up to four hours due to the location where the body was found being quite far from the search post by the joint SAR Team.
"Currently, the body has been evacuated to the Manggar Port and will be further handled by the Bangka Belitung Regional Police medical team," he said.
Maladi added that his group was grateful to the fishermen and all of society who had participated in searching for the victims of the Polairud helicopter crash.
