TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported that six roads were inundated and 19 neighboring units or RT were flooded as of 9 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022, after heavy rains in the evening.
“The status of the Sunter Hulu floodgate monitoring post has also increased to Alert 2 (Siaga) and the Krukut Hulu floodgate monitoring post at Alert 3 (Waspada),” the agency’s disaster data center reported in a written statement, Monday, November 28, 2022.
As of 9 p.m. last night, six roads were inundated and 19 RT or 0.062 percent of the total 30,470 RT in the capital were affected by the floods.
Additionally, the agency recorded one dead victim in Bintaro Urban Village, Pesanggrahan District, South Jakarta. A 35-year-old woman named Lina Maulida was electrocuted when she tried to unplug a submerged electric plug last night.
The agency mobilized personnel to monitor each flood-affected area and collaborated with the Jakarta Water Resource Agency, Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency, as well as local sub-district administrations to pump out floodwater and ensure that the water channels functioned properly. The agency hoped that the floodwater could recede as soon as possible.
Jakarta people are advised to remain cautious and alert to the potential for flooding. In an emergency, BPBD suggests people immediately call the hotline number 112.
