TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo through his Instagram account on November 25, congratulated teachers across Indonesia in the commemoration of national teachers’ day. In his recent post, the President acknowledged that education is key to facing future challenges.
"Only with good education, our children will be ready to enter the future with fierce competition," said Jokowi through his official Instagram page @jokowi.
He also conveyed that teachers are the foundation of society to prepare and forge the nation's children to realize the country’s hopes and dreams.
In celebration of National Teacher's Day this year, the government carries the theme "Innovate Simultaneously, Realize Free Learning" which aims to boost teachers’ spirit of innovation and pass on their knowledge to elevate the quality of human resources.
The Indonesian government set November 25 as National Teacher's Day through Presidential Decree No.78/1994, which was issued to commemorate the founding of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI).
