TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Towards the year-end holidays, the percentage of hotel reservations in the Yogyakarta area continues to rise. If the number of reservations continues into the range of 30-60 percent at the end of November, then the reservation will be stable above 60-70 percent in December.
"Currently 60 percent of reservations occur mostly in hotels within the central area of Yogyakarta (urban), while the western, eastern and southern regions are currently still at 30 percent," said the Chairman of the Yogyakarta Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), Deddy Pranowo Eryono, Wednesday, November 23, 2022.
Deddy said specifically that on December 15-31, the reservation trend will peak at 70 percent. "And the most dominant region is not hotels in the central region, but hotels located in the east and north urban area," he said.
The Yogyakarta PHRI reminds tourists to prepare their year-end vacation plans this time properly. This is due to the prediction that the current year's visits will be matching the number of visits before Yogyakarta was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
To avoid any difficulty getting a hotel to stay in, Deddy advises tourists to make reservations in advance. "Before the pandemic, many tourists complained about not getting hotel rooms, while there is still time, it's best to reserve early," he said.
According to Deddy, members of the Yogyakarta PHRI on welcoming the year-end holidays along with the reduction of covid cases agreed to reinstate normal prices for the hotel as before the pandemic. During the pandemic, the prices for a room were cut down due to the lack of visits from the restriction, now the room prices are normal according to the lower and upper limits.
