TEMPO.CO, Karanganyar - The Surakarta Customs and Excise Office destroyed several illegal goods as a result of prosecution circulating in the Solo area and its surroundings, Tuesday, November 22, 2022. The potential state losses customs levies on thousands of confiscated goods are estimated at more than Rp3 billion, with an estimated value of the goods of about Rp4.6 billion.
The goods that were destroyed were from December 2021 to October 2022. The type of goods that were destroyed included cigarettes, totaling 3,850,560.
In addition, there are 385 bottles and 86 jerry cans of beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA) or liquor that do not comply with laws and regulations in the excise sector, as well as imported goods through the Solo Customs Traffic Pos Office in 2021 that violate provisions on prohibitions and restrictions.
Other types of imported goods include plant seeds, sex toys, medicines, condoms, fishing lures, food, clothing, cosmetics, parts of weapons, and cellphone that do not meet the requirements.
The eradication of the illegal goods took place in the backyard of the Customs and Excise Service Office of Customs Associate type B (KPPBC TMP) Surakarta, in Colomadu District, Karanganyar Regency.
The head of the Surakarta Customs and Excise Office, Yetty Yulianty, stated that they had been granted the approval to destroy the state property.
