TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Sri Asih begins playing in all cinemas across the country today, November 17, 2022. Directed by Upi Avianto, the movie tells the story of Indonesia's first female superhero and is the second film of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe after Gundala.
Lots of Surprises and Plot Twists
The one-hour and 14-minute film presents many surprises for the audience. It can be said that the synopsis and trailers shared with the public by far are only a small overview of the film.
Unexpected and crucial characters will appear in the middle to the end of the show. The audience will also be surprised and amazed by many plot twists.
Sri Asih is Pevita Pearce's first action film during her career. The actress said she exerted her utmost abilities that had been prepared for the last three years for the strong character. The fighting scenes are impressive and real, especially since most of them are done by herself thanks to the training with the Uwais Team.
“It can be said that almost 90 percent of the fighting scenes are done by myself because since the start I was given quite a long time to prepare,” said Pevita during a press conference for the film in the Epicentrum area on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
Stunning Visual Effects
Apart from the acting of the players, another thing that has been eagerly awaited is the visual effects of the film which are crucial for superhero flicks. The visual effects in Sri Asih seemed to be the best in the history of Indonesian cinema. Moreover, all of them were executed by the nation's children.
Joko Anwar, as the producer, revealed that the comic book-based movie opened up the origins of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe story and provided context for the follow-up films. “Upi executed this film extraordinarily,” he said.
There is also a vital after-credit scene for the continuation of the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe that must not be missed.
Sri Asih is also starred by renowned actors and actresses. Among them are Jefri Nichol, Christine Hakim, Reza Rahadian, Dimas Anggara, Surya Saputra, Randy Pangalila, Dian Sastrowardoyo, Jenny Zhang, Dimas Anggara, Revaldo, Faradina Mufti, Fadly Faisal, and Messi Gusti.
