G20 Approves Leaders' Declaration, Decries Russian Aggression in Ukraine

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - All members of the Group of Twenty or G20 have approved a Leaders’ Declaration or Communique at today’s summit in Bali, chaired by Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo or Jokowi.
The declaration has also been uploaded and shared with the media, containing 1,186 pages and 52 main points of members’ concern in the last two days of the summit.
Most members, as noted in the declaration, strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering, “and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy.”
The members also agreed with the importance of upholding international law and the multilateral system, “which maintains peace and stability.”
The G20 leaders welcomed the results of the various working groups and ministerial meetings. “We appreciate and thank Indonesia for its presidency and for successfully hosting the G20 Bali,” the declaration said.
